Just as important, hemp bast fibers, commonly used in textiles, ropes, and other woven goods, are naturally antimicrobial & antibacterial our filters naturally kill off molds, bacterias, and viruses that collect on the filter. This allows us to avoid chemical additives that other filters often have to use.

We recommend replacing your BAST air filters every 2 - 4 months, depending on your household's health concerns and sensitivities to allergies.
The BAST Team recommends a more regular replacement schedule for any customers living in humid regions.
Designed in partnership with Southeast Nonwovens, Inc, our filters came from a high school science fair project done by Carly Keller & Danielle Clapper, a duo that took their findings to National Science Fairs and the National FFA's Agriscience Fair. Following this, Carly continued the project and started BAST Manufacturing, LLC, while Danielle decided to pursue elementary education at the University of Wyoming!
